Specialty A4.04 Secondary education (Mathematics) (Bachelor's degree, Master's degree)

The Department of Higher Mathematics and Informatics is a structural unit of the Faculty of of Mathematics and Informatics. It provides training for applicants according to current educational standards, performs not only educational and methodological, but also research and educational work, plays a key role in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of mathematics and computer science education.
The department is a graduating department for the educational and professional program "Mathematics and Informatics" specialty A4.04 Secondary Education (Mathematics) for the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education, which combines fundamental knowledge of mathematics and modern information technology, providing thorough pedagogical training and practical skills in working with with secondary school students. It also takes an active part in the implementation of international projects and grants, cooperates with other educational institutions in Ukraine and Europe. and Europe, and intensively introduces innovations into the educational process.
Teachers of the department take an active part in research work, publish articles in periodicals included in the list of professional publications of Ukraine, to scientometric databases, in particular Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, as well as make presentations at conferences and supervise the scientific work of of higher education students.
One of the priority areas of research of the department is scientific research in in the field of mathematics teaching methods, integration of STEM education, mathematical modeling and digitalization of the educational process.
The department organizes and coordinates the pedagogical practice of applicants for of higher education in secondary schools, which allows future specialists to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, improve their professional skills, and gain teaching experience.
